MENZIES DESIGN & PRINT
Bring your next campaign to life with consistent colour, crisp detail and quality that you can feel.
From brochures and catalogues to business stationery, Menzies Design & Print helps you make the most of a larger print run with advice on paper, artwork and finishing.
Lithographic printing, also called offset printing, transfers ink from printing plates to a rubber blanket and then onto the paper. The plates and press need to be prepared before the run begins.
That initial setup is spread across the quantity you order. For longer runs of the same design, litho can offer a lower cost per copy while maintaining consistent colour and sharp detail.
Litho often suits larger quantities of brochures, leaflets and stationery. Digital is usually more practical for smaller batches, frequent artwork changes or personalised copies. There is no single crossover quantity: size, page count, stock and finishing all affect the best option. Send us your specification and we can compare the approaches.
FROM IDEA TO PRINT
A little planning at the start helps a larger print job run smoothly. We can help you agree the specification before it goes to press.
Tell us the product, size, quantity, page count and deadline. Include your artwork, brand requirements and any paper or finishing preferences.
We’ll discuss the print method, stock, colour requirements and finish, then quote for the agreed job. Artwork and proofing requirements can be confirmed before production.
Once the artwork and specification are agreed, the job can move into press setup, printing and finishing. We’ll confirm timing and the arrangements for getting the completed print to you.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
Planning your first order or comparing options? Here are the questions that help get a print project started.
Litho can offer better value per copy on longer runs because the plate-making and press setup costs are shared across more copies. The crossover with digital depends on size, quantity, page count, paper and finishing. We can advise using your actual specification.
Yes. Colour consistency and brand presentation are important when planning litho work. Send your brand guidelines, colour references or an existing printed sample with your enquiry. We can discuss the approach and proofing needed for your job; paper choice also affects the result.
The options depend on what you are printing and how it will be used. Tell us the weight, surface or finish you have in mind, or bring us a sample. We can recommend a suitable specification and confirm which finishing options are available.
Allow time for artwork preparation, press setup, printing and finishing. The schedule depends on the quantity, stock and complexity of the job. Tell us your deadline when you enquire so we can check availability and confirm the timing.
A litho run repeats the same artwork. If names, addresses or messages need to change between copies, tell us at the start. Digital printing or a suitable combination of processes may be more appropriate; we can advise on the options for your project.
Send the product type, finished size, quantity, number of pages or printed sides, and your deadline. Include any paper, colour or finishing preferences and say whether the artwork is ready. If you are unsure about a detail, we can help you choose.
